Let's Rock Sidney Hutchinson Park

The Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Walker is excited to announce the launch of its Community Rock Program, Jake the Snake, in collaboration with the Kindness Rock Project of Louisiana (KRPofLa). Rock Snakes, a trend that gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic, involve a collection of painted rocks forming a snake with a larger rock serving as the head. These rocks are adorned with positive messages, creative artwork, and unique designs that highlight local talent and community unity. The primary goal of this initiative is to foster community cohesion through the collective creation of these rock snakes. It is an inclusive project open to everyone regardless of age or experience level. The dedication ceremony will be held on Monday, March 4th, at 4:00pm at Sidney Hutchinson Park near the entrance of the walking trail by the Ball Park Road parking lot. For further details or inquiries, please reach out to the Parks and Recreation Department via email at parksandrecinfo@walker-la.gov or by phone at 225-665-3755. Join us in spreading positivity and creativity throughout our community one rock at a time!
